This Month's Muse: Lilli Ann

It's no secret that I'm drawn to vintage coats from all decades. However there is one line of vintage coats that continues to catch my eye time and time again, "Lilli Ann."


"Lilli Ann" founded by Adolph Schuman in 1933 was named after Schuman's wife, Lillian. "Lilli Ann" quickly gained recognition for its luxurious designs and impeccable craftsmanship.

Lilli Ann was a California brand, that took much of its inspiration from Parisian textiles. Many of these fabrics were bought from small textile companies, that were in such financial straits after the war that they were in danger of closing. Schuman bought from these small companies, and was thus credited with saving many of them from financial ruin.
