Oh my gauze

Posted by Elizabeth Williams on

Cotton Gauze is having a moment right now, and I'm here for it. I love the sturdy thickness of this recent gauze revival and the already wrinkled appearance of cotton gauze works well with my already wrinkled lifestyle.

Today I'm sharing three of my favorite "of-the-moment" classic gauze dresses, because even coat designers need a break from thinking about coats.

*Buyer beware...gauze is very trendy right now, be sure to invest in gauze pieces that reflect your personal style and/or appear classic in their nature. Stay away from trendy gauze pieces that you will regret buying next year, along with super light-weight, flimsy gauze that does not wash and wear well with time.

Eileen Fisher - Organic Cotton Gauze Scoop Neck Dress - Boasts an easy fit, plus you can't go wrong in this classic cut. I see endless styling options for this dress that include a draped blazer for chilly days ahead. $198

Marine Layer - Valencia Wrap Dress - I have never met a wrap dress that I regretted owning. This flattering cut is a no brainer for beach days and weddings alike. - $88 (on sale)

Black Cotton Gauze Dress

Velvet By Graham Spencer - Doheny Dress - Take the gauze trend into the fall and even back again in the spring with this long sleeve dress. This dress comes with an optional matching fabric belt so it can also be worn belted, alone as a kaftan, or styled with your own leather belt from home. - $238

You can find gauze galore right now in shorts, pants, tops, and blouses, but in my opinion, the dresses are where it's at. These black cotton gauze dresses can be styled for days and nights with a simple change of your accessories. Plus, you will never regret having a summer-weight, "little black dress" in your wardrobe.
