Fall is a beautiful season in Chicago. The tree lined streets are bursting with color and the local grocery stores have a fresh array of honey crisp apples and and butternut squash to help us forget about sweet corn. Although Chicago can be chilly in the fall, most Chicagoans opt to continue to roam outdoors, since after all, it could be worse. Like many climates, the weather in Chicago can switch on a dime, from sunny, to windy, to chilly, to rain. In fact it's only 1:00 pm as I write this and I have experienced all of these today alone. Any good Chicagoan will tell you that the secret to fall fashion is layering, but I'm going to introduce you to a few Chicago designers that have mastered these layers as a form of art.
